Jennifer Zoerkler-Morgan has overseen VHO’s dramatic and organic growth during its
first nine years of operation. Serving just 34 clients in the beginning, VHO now serves
over 280 clients annually. VHO has been successful through both programmatic and
fiscal management and continues to be awarded increases in grant funding to serve the
increasing census of clients and to meet their critical needs in becoming treatment
adherent through Medical Case Management, Housing, Medical Transportation,
Emergency Food Vouchers, and Mental Health and Wellness services. Zoerkler-Morgan
served on the Washington DC Commission on Health and HIV (COHAH) for 5 years.
Although she is retiring, she will still be active in the community as co-lead of the NOVA
STI/HIV Task Force, a collaborative team of local health departments, prevention and
care providers, and consumers in northern Virginia that provides a unified message on
STI and HIV infections and prevention strategies. In addition she will be looking for
other opportunities to support the community’s needs of affordable housing for
vulnerable populations.
