The following three things must be true in order for you to be eligible for Insurance Enrollment support:

  1. You are HIV+.
  2. You live in the state of Virginia in one of the covered jurisdictions (the covered jurisdictions include but may not be limited to Arlington, Clarke, Culpeper, Fairfax, Fauquier, King George, Loudoun, Prince William, Spotsylvania, Stafford or Warren Counties; or the cities of Alexandria, Fairfax, Falls Church, Fredericksburg, Manassas, or Manassas Park).
  3. Your household income at or below 500% of the Federal Poverty Level.

Virginia ADAP Clients

VHO helps Ryan White eligible Virginia ADAP clients enroll in health insurance plans available through the ACA Federal Marketplace. HIV/AIDS clinics across Northern Virginia rely on VHO’s expertise in enrolling their clients during Open Enrollment and assisting the Virginia Department of Health in post-enrollment follow-up. VHO has also helped HIV/AIDS clinics with enrollment in other parts of the state including Roanoke and Richmond.

During the year, VHO helps eligible clients with Special Enrollment and may soon be assisting with Medicaid enrollments made possible by the Medicaid Expansion in Virginia.

This website provides a number of helpful resources to assist patients and providers in their efforts to enroll the uninsured through the Marketplace. It includes an interactive map that allows users to get a list of organizations in their area that provide in-person assistance with enrollment through the health insurance marketplace and a list of health plans that offer coverage in their area. The site also provides a schedule of upcoming enrollment events and links to the health insurance marketplace and basic resources regarding coverage and enrollment.

Cover Virginia
This is the site where online enrollment in Virginia Medicaid or FAMIS is completed. It is geared towards the Medicaid-eligible population and includes Virginia-specific resources to help patients better understand their options for coverage through Medicaid and the Marketplace, and the steps involved in enrollment.
